8 steps to better CEO time management

Set up a quarterly meeting for CEO Time Rebalancing
Create two tables, 1 for professional time and 1 for personal time
Identify typical activities in your CEO’s work life, i.e. meetings, strategy, investors
Identify typical activities in your CEO’s personal life, i.e. sleep, gym, family
For each activity, quantify the current CEO time spent in hours per week
For each activity, identify the desired CEO time spent in hours per week
Make an action plan to reduce time spent in an undesired activity, i.e. meetings
Make an action plan to increase time spent in an undesired activity, i.e. strategy
Hint: reference your CEO’s Zone of Genius to figure out where to maximize their time and look to your Zone of Incompetence to decide where to minimize their time.
