Saying No

A Chief of Staff’s most powerful tool: Saying No. If you say no to low impact tasks, then you can start saying yes to big impact projects.

But it’s hard for the people pleasers. It’s against your DNA. Here’s a quick tip: reflect back on your work week.

Identify 2-3 things that were low priority or didn’t make an impact. Make a plan to say “no” to them in the future. Write out a script which you can use in the future. “Thanks NAME but we have to really focus on X right now. Can you solve this on your own?”

Try it out and see what happens. Now, say it with me, just…Say No.
